The Samsung Q line-up of notebooks hasn’t been a big secret, but as of today we can finally say that the series has a somewhat firm release date when it comes to those in the United Kingdom who might be interested. Samsung also announced that the Q530, Q430, and Q330 will be heading to other international markets as well. At the top of the line, the Q530 is by far the most appealing of the set.

Turns out the ages old adage that a cutting-edge product plus hype equates to big first day sales, as Sprint today announced that the Friday saw the HTC EVO 4G smash the carriers records for first day handset sales. Not only did it outsell the previous two record holders in the Palm Pre and Samsung Instinct, but in its first 24 hours of availability Sprint sold three times more EVOs than Pres and Instincts in their first 72 hours of availability combined. Of course we wish that Sprint would reveal the actual numbers, but we’ll cut them some slack.

No, you’re eyes are not deceiving you — that is indeed one giant, tablet-ized version of the Samsung Galaxy S your weary eyes are peepin’. Posted by the official Twitter page for Samsung South Africa, the tablet was referred to as the “Galaxy Tab”. Right now all we know is that the thing runs Android with TouchWiz UI, operates on 3G networks, has a front-facing camera and 3.5mm headphone jack.

Having heard only this morning that Samsung were planning a full three Android tablets for launch by the end of 2010, the South African Samsung team have just posted an image of what’s said to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab.  Posing next to a Samsung Galaxy S , the Galaxy Tab apparently has a 7-inch display, “high-res” LCD TFT display and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Unfortunately, beyond that there’s no new information of specifications.

The first on the list confirms that the Motorola i1 we scooped way back will definitely launch on June 20th in stores. However, it won’t be available in stores for purchase until July 11th.
