The Samsung Q line-up of notebooks hasn’t been a big secret, but as of today we can finally say that the series has a somewhat firm release date when it comes to those in the United Kingdom who might be interested. Samsung also announced that the Q530, Q430, and Q330 will be heading to other international markets as well. At the top of the line, the Q530 is by far the most appealing of the set.

Viliv N5 priced: $649 from July 19th

Importer Dynamism has announced pricing and availability for the Viliv N5 MID , which will begin shipping in the US from July 19th 2010. The compact clamshell – which has a 4.8-inch 1024 x 600 touchscreen, Intel Atom 1.3GHz Z520 processor and 32GB SSD – will be available in two configurations, differentiated by integrated 3G. The non-3G N5 will be priced at $649 and have 1GB of RAM, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, GPS and a 1.3-megapixel webcam.

Sure, the massive clear block at the front of this Coloured Glaze HTPC from NOVO is completely pointless, but it also does the remarkable task of making a boring hunk of plastic powered by Intel Atom and NVIDIA Ion into an object of minimalist desire. A Dell executive has revealed that the company is in talks with Google and is exploring the possibility of shipping netbooks with Chrome OS, the search giant’s cloud-centric Linux-based mobile operating system. The news reflects Dell’s interest in experimenting with new platforms. Dell has experimented with desktop Linux, but hasn’t really committed to the platform in the consumer space

iPhone 4 touchscreen shortage halves production capacity?

Apple’s iPhone 4 stock issues are down to a shortage of touchscreens , according to Rodman & Renshaw Inc. analyst Ashok Kumar, who told investors late last week that the Cupertino company has been forced to halve earlier estimates for the number of handsets it could expect to ship each month

Oh yes, Toshiba ‘s dualscreen laptop of sorts is real, and it’s exactly what you’ve inevitably been staring at right up there. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the company’s laptop business, Tosh gave its classic Libretto ultraportable brand some mouth-to-mouth with the W100. Yeah, we couldn’t believe it ourselves when we saw it, but the device certainly is legit — it has two 7-inch, 1024 x 600-resolution touchscreens, and is powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Pentium U5400 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 64GB SSD and Windows 7 Home Premium
