Sounds like an anime characters. But, they’re not. They are a pair of baseball-playing robots developed in Japan. These pair of Robot were created by Masatoshi Ishikawa, A Professor in the University of Tokyo. The three-fingered, pitching robot can throw 90 percent of its pitches in the strike zone. This, even without warming-up some throws in the ballpen.
The batting robot can hit the balls in the strikes zone close to 100% of the time. Its sensor can determine if pitches were strikes or balls. Next step for the Robot-pair, is to increase the Pitching speed from 23 mph to 95 mph and is capable of throwing curved balls and sliders. For the batting robot, is getting the robot to be able to hit to all parts of the field.
